What are Screw Down Bearings?

Screw down bearings are heavy-duty single-direction tapered roller thrust bearings designed to handle extreme axial loads.They are used almost exclusively in the screw-down mechanisms of rolling mills to adjust the gap-and thereby control the thickness-of rolled metal plates and strips.

The reinforced integral inner- and outer-ring construction minimises assembly-stack-up errors and improves stability under extreme shock-type loads.Optimised raceway profiles enlarge roller-to-raceway contact area and evenly distribute radial-axial combined loads,reducing localised stress concentration for high-impact metallurgical operating cycles.

Available precision grades:P0,P6,P5.Dimension scope:bore diameter 127-700 mm,outer diameter 150-800 mm,overall thickness 48-270 mm.

Material options for rings and rollers:GCr15 high-carbon chromium steel,G20Cr2Ni4A carburising alloy steel or other chrome-alloy steel.Cages are brass or special heavy-duty composite materials.Operating temperature spans -40 °C up to +200 °C.
